NEW PROMOTIONS

Lanvin Launches at H&M!

This past Saturday, Lanvin launched it’s highly anticipated line for H&M – and in minutes it was – sold out! Designed by Alber Elbaz, Lanvin is considered one of the most influential brands of the 21st Century. Lanvin follows in the steps of Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Viktor & Rolf, Comme des Garcons and Jimmy Choo among others who created exclusive collections for this November timeslot – - a perfect segway into the Holiday season.

With a strong emphasis on dresses and accessories for women and tuxedo looks for men – the line reflected Elbaz’s keen sense for decorative elements. In women’s – ruffles, raw edges, bows, pearls and metallic embellishments were everywhere. For men, we loved those metallic lace ups and animal print tees – which all sold out immediately.

Fashion’s Night Out – New York

New York’s most fashionable celebrated the second installment of Fashion’s Night Out – Editor of Vogue US Anna Wintour’s answer to stimulate the economy – last Friday 10th.

A literal who’s who of fashion and entertainment – plus a whole range of celebrities from the A to D list provided a heavy dose of glamor. The ‘big’ names included Mary J Blige and Sarah Jessica Parker at Bergdorf’s, Jennifer Lopez at Macy’s and from the fashion world – Donna Karan, Tom Ford and Jason Wu at Bergdorf’s, Behnaz Sarafpour and Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen at Barney’s, Viktor & Rolf at Saks 5th Ave and Diane von Furstenburg hosting a party at her DVF store in the Meatpacking District – to name just a few. Model, Karoline Kurkova appeared at Saks, Lauren Hutton at Giorgio Armani and a slew of good looking men dressed head to toe Ralph Lauren paraded at Bloomingdale’s. We loved the male Broadway dancers – dressed in artisan aprons – hoofing in unison down several flight of stairs at Louis Vuitton’s flagship on 5th Ave. Meanwhile rock band – Train – played a mini concert outside Macy’s flagship on Herald Square and Alexa Ray Joel entertained the crowds at Bloomingdale’s!

Daphne Guiness certainly turned heads, Mr. Jay Alexander (America’s Top Model) provided photo ops at Bloomingdale’s, tattoo artists showed of their work at Bergdorf’s and both male and female models swapped places with mannequins at Versace, Abercrombie & Fitch, Gant and many others….

Add to that Ping Pong and Black Jack tables at Bloomingdale’s, a dog show at Bergdorf’s, musical chairs and a karaoke competition at Barney’s and you have a pretty good idea of the fun generated at this years Fashion’s Night Out event. And they were just the few things I can remember…….

So what did you do – and who did you see in your city for the International version of Fashion’s Night Out?
