Salvatore Ferragamo – And My Pet Peeve – NO SERVICE!
.
I hate two things when I’m shopping – over zealous sales people who won’t leave you alone – and – NO SERVICE! Yesterday, I dropped into Salvatore Ferragamo on Fifth Ave to check out a tailored velvet blazer I admired in the window. After taking the time to walk upstairs to the Men’s department, finding this item and then trying it on – I wasn’t quite sure I had the correct size. I wanted to see the size down. No such luck – no sales person in sight. I walked the floor in search of someone who could help me – and again - no sale people. VERY FRUSTRATING
In a difficult retail climate, I would suggest all retailers find the right balance to ensure customers are well satisfied. No one likes a missed sale! I did end up purchasing the jacket – after walking back downstairs and finding a sales person in the Ladies shoe department – who was most apologetic! I would have preferred excellent service rather than apologies!
