The world of Tommy Hilfiger landed at 681 Fifth Ave (btw 53rd & 54th) with today’s opening of his flagship store – covering 5 floors and over 22,000-square feet! “We wanted this to be our global flagship, our stage to the world” Hilfiger said. And with neighbors like Abercrombie & Fitch, Juicy Couture, Diesel and Giorgio Armani – this destination couldn’t be a better fit for thronging tourists and New Yorkers alike. The basement is dedicated to Hilfiger Jeans and as one moves up the floors the Collections become more sophisticated – and a little more expensive. Of course, with any flagship, no expense was spared as the decor can attest. Whimsical elements are mixed with vintage finds, true Americana touches and a blend of sophisticated materials and finishes. The clothes? True Tommy – with updated ‘All American’ preppy and casual clothing – designed for mass consumption. Tasteful, practical and commercial – yes!
