The Gap Teams Up With Havaianas

Summer Lovin’ never felt so good. In a clever collaboration – Gap has teamed up with cult flip flop favorite Havaianas to create ‘The Urban Beach Flip Flop Shop’ at Gap’s 5th Ave flagship store at 54th Street – launching April 30th!
On offer are the latest Havaianas’ styles. Once your favorite has been selected as a base – you can choose from a range of embellishments – like pins and crystals – to personalize them! But be quick as customization will only be available until June 13th.
this is a really cool idea from gap and havianas. its too bad that this is only available in manhattan. the store in south beach, miami has havianas but nothing that can be customized. considering the weather, i think it would be lucrative business down here.
this is cool! havainas did this in nordstrom a while back in miami! i remember i went, they did the same exact thing! it is pretty cool!

I agree with you and feel that this fun concept could have been applicable to any ‘hot’ weather state or city – Miami, LA, even San Francisco! Gap have been off the fashion radar for awhile and teaming up with Havaianas will give them a well deserved moment of fashion credibility. Shame they are not maximizing their effots!

I think it is an awesome idea that Havaianas has paired up with The Gap to sell their sandals in their stores. It is a great marketing idea.
I believe the Gap Teaming up with Havaianas, is a great marketing tool for both companies. Especially The Gap since it has not been to much in the fashion carpet for sometime. I think this duo will work great in “hot” weather cities especially because the gap has great apparel for the summer time and Havaianas are the hottest flip-flops in the fashion world right now.
I also believe that being able to make your own Havaianas, shows great public relations, and being able to attract an audience. People will walk in to the store just to see how the sandals are being made, eventually buy some, and then maybe pick out an outfit to go with it.

I think this is a great marketing promotion for gap. It’s a good team up for the two companies and creative marketing.
It is amazing to see such collaboration between two great brands that target a similar market; I believe this is a great opportunity for the big mosnter Gap happenned to be once! it’ll serve as a revival for Gap Inc. to target again that clientele that has been lost throughout the years. Great identity revival.
