Matthew Williamson Hits H&M in New York
Matthew Williamson for H&M – sold out by 10.00AM!
In a first, H&M introduced the new Matthew Williamson line – in a Spring season! April 23rd was the big day with expectations high. Shorter lines and a less aggressive crowd ensured that this launch took on a slightly calmer approach than previous designer collaborations. Nonetheless – the line was sold out by 10.00AM!
In another first, H&M has split the collection into two deliveries – with the ‘encore’ collection being launched May 14th. Thursday’s Collection featured cotton/cashmere sweaters, leather jackets, sequins and embroidered items – and was priced for $49.90 for shorts to $349.00 for a beautiful dress (both instant sellouts!).
Of course, a great indicator of success is eBay where over 80 Williamson for H&M pieces turned up on Thursday afternoon – some at double the original retail price!

I love the line great use of color! i want the studed waist bel more than anything in life…XOxo
I love the idea of having H & M partner up with one of the world’s best designers and offer a product that everyone can wear! It is a dream come true… The strategy that H & M has is great and I hope that eventually they will decide to launch online shopping like some of their competitors have.
This collection is FAB! Look forward to the encore collection.
Paul,
The initial impression is one of strong impact with high credibility and leaves one looking for whatever’s coming next.Definitely worth considering investment in the reports.
Congratulations!
Daphne
Thanks Daphne, you taught me well! Everyone should have a mentor like Daphne who saw something in a young man in his early 20′s who was crazy about fashion! Now some 25 years later – we’re still friends – and you’re still encouraging me. Find a work place mentor who can guide you and critically assess your talents. Someone who can teach you the tools for success as you build your career!
I love that top designers as Matthew Williamson partner with companies as H&M in order to create more affordable items. However, what I love the most is that finally they are creating collections that look just like the originals.
I think is better not to create simple items and sell them cheaper (where the only feature from the designer is the name in the label). Instead, creating nice collections and selling them affordable but not cheap, maintains the designer status and gives more credibility to the big oppotunity of getting one of his items at H&M.
I think this collection is really cool. I must say, I absolutley love H&M and how it incorporates famous designers such as Matthew Williamson. The pictures are awesome and these kind of up-to-date posts are really helpful and keep me aware of what is happening!! Thanks,
Maria
The collection is awesome very bright and colorful, I definetely love it! I also love the fact that H&M is always incorporating high end designers at very affordable prices, it gives more people the access to have such amazing pieces.I also really liked the website because it keep you updated with fashion and all the street trends in New York, Thank you.

This was my first time hearing about the Matthew Williamson line for H & M. Even though the lines seemed to be shorter for this line, I’m not surprised it still sold out so fast. All of their designer lines sell within the first day of their debut. Again, I’m not surprised to find the collection on Ebay for double the retail price – and people still pay! It just goes to show that these collections are fashionable for the right price! I think the collection looks great and hopefully I can get my hands on one of the pieces. If only they had an H & M in Florida!
I really love the collection. These pictures are very descriptive and better than the others i have seen. I love the designer and love the idea that now it is a posibility not a fantasy to own a mathew w. piece. Thanks for this nice explicit blog..
Wow. I LOVE this collection. I’ve loved every designer collaboration with H & M.. its the perfect outreach for designer clothing to the masses during this ressesion .
I really love all the clothes. I love the price points. I love how anyone could afford these exciting clothes! They are edgy but very wearable…. I love them!
